Limited Connection on WRT54GX W/SRX Router

Hello, Has anyone had problems with connecting the Lynksys Router wireless? I have spent 3 hours on line with lynksys trying to get a connection other than limited and no luck yet. I have changed router settings, removed security and so on. I tried to install the software and it came up with the following error; WRT54Gx SETUP WIZARD run time error '75': path/file access error. The wireless connections anyway i set them up do not get a good connection. Found lots of other Problems With Vista Beta 2 that need fixing such as my Microsoft offline Player for my training, cant use it.. the list is getting large but I really could use help with the router problems now if anyone has a plan. Thank you.

I'm using a linksys router and I had this problem too at the beginning. Hope my method works on your machine: first go to network centre->view status of your connection->properties, uncheck IPv6 and the last two Link-Layer xxxx protocols, go to the properties of IPv4 protocol, manually configure your IP address (usually is 192.168.1.10x for IP address ,255.255.255.0 for subnet mask, 192.168.1.1 for default gateway, you may need to figure out the DNS server address from some other working computer on the network..) Apply your settings and wait for vista to connect automatically, if it still doesn't work, disable the IPv4 protocol, apply, and re-enable it.
It works fine for now...but it keeps popping up the IP conflict warning on my machine, though it doesn't affect the internet connection

Hello Alex, Thanks for the reply. I did the entire address deal. on my wireless side. It wont go. I am going to go in and change the router settings and then change back as well as the settings on this machine again and try a reboot. Or maybe I should just kill the wireless and then start over router and al?? Any more ideas? thanks again -- To learn is to live and to live is to share our knowledge with others.

I also had that problem. I have a linksys router and modem in one. I had limited connectivity errors with both the cable and the wireless. When I did an upgrade. After I reinstalled Windows clean, my cable worked, but not the wireless. When I manually configure the IP address it works temporarily then it a no go. I'll let you know if I figure it out.
